Introduction
Thank you for visiting my online portfolio.
As you wander through these pages, you will encounter my best work as an Agnes Scott graduate student and as a student teacher. Throughout my months with my colleagues and students, I've learned much more than I ever thought possible. In addition to writing about subjects that I never dreamed I'd get the opportunity to research, I've met teachers and students that have taught me wonderful lessons all their own.
My time both in and out of the classroom has helped to shape what I would like to see my future students understand and experience. I want my students to understand the plethora of englishes that flourish around the globe, as well as the beauty and importance in each one. I want students to read what they like, for only then will they learn to like reading. I want them to be comfortable in my class to discuss, to be open to new ideas, and to disagree. I value and expect respect, honesty and excellence in my students -- and in myself.
